Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR)—Battlespace Awareness
GIS is a naturally integrating technology that merges data from ISR to create spatially aware databases (geodatabases) across multiple networks. Within the geodatabases, spatial context and relationships between sensors and other battlespace entities and actions are maintained, providing an integrated platform for decision makers and warfighters to better understand common operational and tactical situations.
Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) Assessment—Decision Support
The C4I domain supports better and more timely decisions by using a variety of tools to analyze, assess, and plan actions. ArcGIS bolsters C4I capabilities by providing a common spatial context and the tools to provide decision makers, commanders, and warfighters with a distributed, scalable, decision support environment to manage entities in the battlespace.
Precision Engagement (PE)—To Strike
PE includes the coordination of strike assets in time and space to achieve the commander’s desired effect. ArcGIS provides the information framework and tools to understand time and space activities and constraints, then assists in passing precise information to the engagement systems.
