Use GIS to organize cleanup operations. For example, you can create maps for brownfield site remediation that show how various environmental parameters change during the cleanup process. You can track contaminated material as it is treated on-site or transported to another location for disposal.
Once the site remediation is complete, the data can be used again for related projects such as obtaining permission for redevelopment and continued monitoring of the site.
