Meet Vishnu

Degree/Major: Information Technology and Management

What was your role? I designed and developed ETL packages to perform data transformation of raw royalty-bearing consumption data and to preserve data in database tables to generate accounting reports. I created and generated SSRS reports for different departments, analyzed ArcGIS usage and subscription data using the statistical data analysis tool SPSS, and delivered valuable insights which have revealed interesting patterns in product usage and performance.

Coolest thing about working at Esri? The collaboration and cooperation among the employees of different ages, continents, departments, and technologies with a common goal to contribute to Esri`s development, which creates a friendly working atmosphere.

Most important thing you learned during your internship? I gained practical experience on different tools for data warehousing, reporting, and analysis and learned the methods of presenting the findings and communicating the results. The way my team believed in me has boosted my confidence in completing my activities.

Where is the last place you traveled to? Las Vegas, the “Entertainment Capital of the World”

Last movie you saw? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Conjuring—A bit scary, but thumbs down

Favorite way to spend a Saturday afternoon? Playing cricket at a Redlands school ground with other Esri colleagues, pool parties, and hiking

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want with you? Beer gallon, iPod for music, and probably a GIS map to figure a way out from that island

Can: Speak many Indian languages and paint

Can't (but wish you could): Speak Spanish and dance salsa
