What was your role? I worked on the Strategic Marketing team, assisting with Esri Careers social media (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and the blog) and worked on innovative ways to attract attention to the great opportunities Esri has to offer for students and potential employees.
Coolest thing about working at Esri? Everyone is so friendly and always willing to help, no matter what department they are in!
Most important thing you learned during your internship? It was exciting to see how GIS technology can be leveraged in so many ways and in a variety of fields. I learned that communication among those developing, using, and marketing the software is key in developing the way we think about GIS and geography as a whole. Communication and the way we interact with people (i.e., on social forums) are crucial components to success and innovation.
Last movie you saw? Thumbs up or thumbs down? 42 (the Jackie Robinson movie)—thumbs up!
Favorite way to spend a Saturday afternoon? When I’m home in Chicago I love exploring different neighborhoods, shopping at vintage boutiques, and trying new restaurants with friends.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want with you? A boat to cruise around in, a solar powered cell phone, and an endless supply of tacos
