Meet Dan

Degree/Major: PhD in Computer Science

What was your role? I spent my time at Esri working on the new ArcGIS Professional desktop software application. After warming up by fixing a few bugs, my primary role was to implement various layer property pages.

Coolest thing about working at Esri? I really enjoyed Esri’s mentality of focusing on their users and the amazing, socially-positive work they can do because of Esri’s software.

Most important thing you learned during your internship? The most important experience for me this summer was getting to play a role on a large software team and seeing how these types of teams function and communicate.

Where is the last place you traveled to? Austin, Texas, to present a paper at a conference

Last movie you saw? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Knight and Day, with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. It was actually pretty entertaining!

Favorite way to spend a Saturday afternoon? Relaxing and resting with my wife after a good week

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want with you? My Bible, a GPS-satellite-Internet enabled laptop (so I could visit, and a perpetual energy machine (with a socket to plug in my laptop)

Can: Play guitar

Can't (but wish you could): Roll my rrrrrrrr’s
