Meet Jonathan

School: Rochester Institute of Technology

Degree/Major: Master's in Information Technology

What was your role? I developed a JavaScript application that allows users to fix erroneous addresses in their datasets using Esri’s online geocoder service. This application was built using Esri’s ArcGIS API for JavaScript and the Dojo library.

Coolest thing about working at Esri? Being able to ask very specific technical questions and receiving incredibly detailed and helpful answers about how and why.

Most important thing you learned during your internship? The concept of Deferred objects in web programming. Deferred objects are incredibly helpful when doing any asynchronous activity behind the scenes.

Where is the last place you traveled to? Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada

Last movie you saw? Thumbs up or thumbs down? I don’t remember; probably a thumbs down if that’s the case

Favorite way to spend a Saturday afternoon? Driving my car, grilling, hanging with friends, drawing, or computer games

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want with you? Duct tape for building a sweet bachelor pad, flint and tinder fire-starter for keeping warm, large stock pot for cooking

Can: Grow a massive beard; wear flannel; look like a lumberjack

Can’t (but wish you could): Be around spiders; eat tomatoes
