GeoTagged Photos
With ArcGIS Explorer, you can quickly add geotagged photos to your map. You can read the story or watch a three-minute video clip produced by the explorer team that shows how easy it is to do!
ArcLogistics 9.3
The high cost of fuel means that school districts with internal distribution to manage may benefit from the new ArcLogistics 9.3. Besides its new name (previously ArcLogistics Route 3), this fleet management product offers greater functionality and is simpler to use. Read the white paper [PDF] about what's new, or take the free online training seminar.

ArcGIS Online
Ever long for easy-to-add data that you can just drop into an ArcMap session? ArcGIS Online is just that! A collection of online basemaps, imagery, and overlays, including both free services and premium subscription (high-resolution imagery) content, is at your fingertips. ArcGIS Online standard services are available free to ArcGIS users for internal use or for noncommercial external use (see licensing summary). For ArcGIS Desktop users, there are .mxd files (ArcMap projects), .lyr files (layer files), and .3dd files (ArcGlobe projects). ArcGIS Explorer users can access different .nmf files as projects, layers, tasks, and results.

Resource Centers
One of the great new elements of ArcGIS 9.3 is the ready access to Resource Centers. The Resource Centers help you use the tools better by providing quick access to online instruction, content, customizations, Web help, and support. The ArcGIS Desktop Resource Center can be accessed from the File menu of ArcMap 9.3 or the help menus of ArcCatalog 9.3 and ArcMap 9.3.

Call for Papers for 2009 ESRI EdUC
Presentation proposals are due November 14 for the ESRI Education User Conference (EdUC) and ESRI International User Conference (ESRI UC)! Presenters at the EdUC can choose between moderated sessions (three presentations on related topics) or illustrated sessions (five short presentations followed by individual discussions). Also, note that the EdUC moves to a brand new venue - the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. Full details and the proposal form are available from www.esri.com/educ.
4-H Grant Program
Since 2004, ESRI has supported 4-H programs across the United States with grants of ArcView and ArcPad Youth Club Licenses and support. More than 600 counties have had 4-H groups receive grants. These groups have gone on to demonstrate the power of youth with technology in tackling some important community service projects. This year, there are three types of grants available. See www.esri.com/4-h.
ESRI Community Atlas
ESRI's U.S. Community Atlas is a project in which students or youth groups define the nature of their community and post descriptions and maps about it. These small presentations (10-20 original maps, 1,000-2,500 original words) are posted on the Web and can be explored for similarities and differences. The Web site contains full guidelines and templates, pointers to free data and mapping options, and model projects from each year. In addition to getting their community's description publicly posted, schools and youth groups contributing a project that meets the guidelines earn software or other educational resources. The deadline for submissions is May 22, 2009. Read more at www.esri.com/communityatlas.
