How Was This Database Built?

RPM Consulting collects source data for BranchInfo annually from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Branch locations are matched against FDIC's reporting system to identify branch openings, closures, mergers, and acquisitions that may have occurred after the data was collected.

Key operational events, such as mergers, acquisitions, and relocations, are maintained historically for each branch, as are deposit balances by year and deposit balance growth rates for the previous five years.

RPM Consulting regularly reviews branch geocodes for completeness and accuracy using multiple geocoding databases.
