CrimeRisk data from AGS comes from an extensive analysis of more than seven years of crime statistics from the FBI Uniform Crime Report. Based on detailed modeling of the relationships between crime and demographics, CrimeRisk provides an accurate view of the relative risk of specific crime types at the block group geography level. CrimeRisk data consists of a series of indexes standardized to the U.S. average for a range of serious crimes against persons and property.

Primary reporting categories include murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, theft, and motor vehicle theft. Because arson data is inconsistently reported and varies greatly by jurisdiction, this information is not included in the database.

Industry professionals can use CrimeRisk data to

  • Identify areas that need extra security measures.
  • Analyze crime figures around prospective sites.
  • Apply crime data to analyses of underperforming sites.

Why Use CrimeRisk Data

Agencies, companies, and organizations must safeguard their customers, clients, and property. A better understanding of crimes against persons and property by area enables industry professionals to make more informed security and crime-deterrent decisions.
