What's New in Data at 9.2

ESRI Data & Maps 2006

With ArcGIS 9.2, an updated version of the ESRI Data & Maps dataset, called ESRI Data & Maps 2006, ships with each ArcGIS software product at no additional cost. The ESRI Data & Maps 2006 media kit contains five DVDs and includes updates to existing datasets as well as additional new datasets.

Added Datasets

90-meter Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) dataset
This dataset includes the SRTM Global Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with all void areas filled, as well as a shaded relief derived from the DEM.

Data Updates

Many U.S. datasets have been updated to their most current version. This includes:

• Tele Atlas Census boundary and landmark layers
• National Atlas layers

Updates to datasets at the world level include:

• Country population values updated to 2005
• Political Organizations table
• AND (Automotive Navigation Data) basemap layers for Europe
• Demographic and socioeconomic thematic data at the NUTS (Nomenclature of Units for Territorial Statistics) 0, 1, 2, and 3 level

In addition, updates have been made to many of the data layers for Canada and Mexico, as well as minor corrections and enhancements of many other Data & Maps datasets.
