Creating the Future of 3D GIS

Expanded use of 3D GIS and mapping technology is increasingly common because of its ability to realistically render natural and man-made features for better analysis and decision-making. Recent developments in Esri CityEngine and the ArcGIS platform include advanced capabilities to quickly generate intelligent 3D visualizations that retain the modeling capabilities found in 2D GIS.

3D GIS provides a horizontal platform for geospatial professionals working in a number of industries including urban planning, architecture, design, defense, and scientific research.

The forum will be held at the Omni San Diego hotel, near the San Diego Convention Center, in San Diego, California.

With the increased ability of sensing devices to collect rich 3D datasets, it is important that those involved in this advanced field stay current with the latest techniques in 3D image processing, rendering, and visualization.
