WebMap Competition

What is the Competition?

This competition is for registered Esri APUC 2012 attendees to submit ArcGIS Online WebMaps and Web Applications to be rated by other ArcGIS Online users based upon those which they find to be the most interesting and innovative. The ratings are done using the standard ArcGIS Online rating tool and the highest rated will be the competition winner (based upon the number and level of ratings).

To recognise the highest rated entry as voted by other ArcGIS Online users – there is a prize of Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 Tablet.

How do I View and Rate the Entries?

You can view and rate all of the entries in the Competition Gallery or access the WebMap Competition Group directly on ArcGIS Online.

How do I Submit an Entry?

First you should register for the Esri APUC 2012 Conference. Then carry out the following:

• Create an ArcGIS Online WebMap (or Web Application containing an ArcGIS Online WebMap)
• Please note: If you are submitting a Web Application you will have to ensure that the Web Application is listed on ArcGIS Online and that the WebMap which it references is also shared with the Public.
• Entries can then be submitted to the competition using this link.

The closing date for submissions is 4pm on Friday 2nd November (New Zealand time) and you can only submit one entry per registered Attendee for the Conference.

How do I create a WebMap or WebApplication?

WebMaps are online maps created using ArcGIS Online. For more information about creating Web Maps and Applications, modifying item details, sharing content with groups and rating and comments for ArcGIS Online items please see the ArcGIS.com Help .

Competition Rules

Entries should have complete description information included in their ArcGIS Online details page including:

• Title
• Summary
• Description (including links to any embedded uses of the WebMap or application)
• Tags
• Access & Use Constraints
• Credits (Including the registrant's name)

Submission of an entry into this group is deemed to be acceptance of the Rules and confirmation that the entrant has the necessary authority to enter the Promotion (for example to include data from a third party). The competition rules are available here.
