Sonny Beech has been in the GIS industry for over two decades. He started his career as a GIS analyst and programmer for several municipalities prior to a career shift to the private sector where he worked for an environmental remediation firm, before joining GIS Inc. in 1995. In 2002, Sonny was hired by Esri and moved to Atlanta to develop a sales team and manage a newly formed office. After seven years with Esri, Sonny returned to Birmingham as GIS Inc.'s National Sales Manager. He now serves as IoT Business Development Manager, helping organizations identify solutions to translate data and technology into unique solutions that can be leveraged to solve current and future business challenges.

Dr. Thomas A. Horan is the newly appointed Dean of School of Business at the University of Redlands, where he also holds the position of H. Jess and Donna Colton Senecal Endowed Dean’s Chair. Dr. Horan’s work has been at the intersection of management and technology. He has approximately 30 years of experience in designing, implementing and evaluating technologies, and has led several GIS initiatives in health care, supply chain, and transportation. Dr. Horan’s work has been featured at the US White House and his research has been sponsored by numerous organizations, including the California HealthCare Foundation, US Department of Transportation, and National Science Foundation. Prior to joining the University of Redlands, Dr. Horan served as Dean of the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, where he also served on the faculty for 22 years.
Daniel Irwin is the Geospatial Lead for Crossrail, a £15B railway construction project in London and one the largest infrastructure projects in Europe. With almost 20 years of experience, he has worked as a geospatial subject matter expert in sectors ranging from environmental, utilities, transport modelling and construction through to asset and facilities management. At Crossrail, Daniel is leading the development of geospatial solutions to integrate and support the BIM principles that underpin the project for the entire lifecycle of a world class railway.
Gregg Katz was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. As Director of Innovation & Technology, he is responsible for the creation and integration of the technology strategy for The Shopping Center Group. Using a forward-thinking approach, Gregg’s focus is to create an infrastructure for data, analytics, social platforms, website, GIS, mobile technology and branding by leveraging information and tools to align the Company’s tactical plans and future growth with the needs of the company’s clients. Gregg joined The Shopping Center Group in 2006 as a Tenant Rep. Prior to joining the Company, he spent 15 years in restaurant operations, consulting, marketing and site selection, including owning and operating a quick-casual restaurant group in Orlando, Florida from 1996-2001. Chan Lee is a Strategy and Analytics Manager at Chick-fil-A Inc. whose main duties include development of mobile data collection tools, desktop forecasting tools, and seamlessly integrating the two on an enterprise level. He works in the Real Estate Department but is helping to show the value of GIS to the rest of the organization.
Sophy Liu is Director, Emerging Technology at Bristow Group. She’s dedicated over 17 years to information technology enablement at enterprise scale in the Oil & Gas and Aviation industries. She holds a Ph.D degree in Electrophysiology. Outside of technology, her passions are her family and travel.

Theo Malzieu is an Urban Planner and Urban Designer at Foster + Partners. Within the Urban Design Group, his involvement focusses on large scale urban projects and the drafting of strategies for the future of cities, using primary and secondary research, as well as analytical tools and Geographic Information Systems to inform urban development plans. Having studied Geography at the Sorbonne in Paris, he gained a Masters in Sustainable Development in 2008 from the University of Le Mans, France. He then joined the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London, where he gained a Masters degree in Urban Regeneration, with an award for his design guidance. During his studies he worked as a volunteer researcher for the charity London 21, investigating the implication of planned developments in East London in a joint project with Planning Aid for London and UCL. He joined Foster + Partners in 2010.His project experience includes the design of the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong, advising on different aspects of the masterplan and producing design guidelines, the strategy for the implementation of a new metro system in Jeddah, the regeneration of the old port of Casablanca, the planning and design of a financial district in Ho Chi Minh City and the masterplan for an entirely new town in the Beijing region. He has also helped define urban strategies for a wide range of other projects in Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle-East and North Africa.
Bruno Moser is a Partner and head of the practice’s Urban Design Group, which focuses on all aspects of urban planning. He studied architecture at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zurich and subsequently gained a Masters in City Design and Social Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2003. After completing his MSc he continued research at the LSE. Projects include the international conference series ‘Urban Age’ and ‘The Endless City’; research for the 10th Venice Architecture Biennale, ‘City and Society’; and the subsequent exhibition at the Tate Modern. He joined Foster + Partners in 2007.His team consists of specialists from a range of backgrounds –including design, urban planning, real estate, sociology and landscape architecture. By gaining a detailed understanding of context, the group helps to develop projects that are tailored to specific socio-economic, climatic and spatial circumstances. As project goals are defined, the Urban Design Group works with project teams to focus on issues such as spatial structure and hierarchy, the distribution of land uses and density of urban form, building typologies and passive urban design. His project experience includes initiatives for new cities, such as Blue City in Oman and Masdar City in Abu Dhabi; urban developments in Beijing and Riyadh; a regional development plan in the Middle East; and a study of infrastructure development in the UK. He has worked on regeneration-driven schemes in Singapore, West Kowloon and Shanghai, and schemes with a residential focus in Lisbon, Toronto, Latin America and the Middle East. He is also involved in architectural projects with a focus on people interaction and movement, such as the New York Public Library.

Doug Shaddle is the Director of Sales for UberMediawhere he focuses on helping Retail and Restaurant companies better understand their customers’ shopping behaviors in order to improve their site location and marketing decisions.Prior to joining UberMedia in 2014, Doug worked at MapInfo, Claritas, and NDS in similar roles. Brian Smith joined GeoDecisions in 2000 and has more than 18 years of GIS and Spatial IT experience. For the past 16 years, Brian has worked with a variety of customers and partners to solve complex business challenges using spatial information as the cornerstone of the solution. Over the last two years, Brian has co-led initiatives at GeoDecisions to explore and solve common challenges in the IoT space. Along with a team of industry innovators, GeoDecisions has developed an innovative approach to solving IoT challenges using GIS and spatial techniques to illustrate and report on sensors, GPS units, and data feeds.
Brian Weinert, originally from Colorado, holds bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Computer Information systems from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in Ag Economics from Purdue University. His career has spanned 16 years, all with John Deere. He has enjoyed IT roles in accounting and finance, and most recently led an enterprise effort to measure, report and drive product innovation. He is currently Manager, Advanced Analytics in Enterprise Market Research. Brian saves his best for his wife and children ages 7, 12, and 15.
