Presenter: Jim Herries, ESRI Product Manager,
Online Business Solutions
Venetian Room

ArcLogistics Route, ArcGIS Business Analyst Server, and Business Analyst Online for Economic Development are direct responses to market needs. The ArcGIS Business Analyst product family includes solutions that work on every level from the Web to enterprise servers and support private label applications and data appliances.
This session will show real-world examples of business applications, functions, and client use cases and provide a solution map to help you better understand which ESRI products best meet your needs.
What’s New with ESRI’s Business GIS Solutions
Presenter: Garry Burgess, ESRI Product Development Manager, Business Solutions
Walton I Room
Government, utilities, and commercial companies are increasingly aware of the potential and value locked away in their business data. While it is well known that 80 percent of all business data has a spatial component, there is less awareness of how to fully harness and exploit this asset. This session will discuss ongoing developments in ESRI GIS technology to support spatially extended business processes.
The first half of the session will include a demonstration of the updated features and capabilities of the new ArcGIS 9.3 Business Analyst Desktop software. These new features include improved Territory Design workflow, benchmarking reports, an updated custom report editor, and other new customer analytics and map production capabilities. Attendees will learn how to apply these to complex site location and customer analytic problems. The second half will introduce data management and integration with Business Analyst Online and ArcGIS Business Analyst Server through real examples and demonstrations of the Business Analyst problem-solving framework using customized workflow applications and the Business Analyst Server analysis center.
Attendees will discover how a collaborative GIS can be developed to share information, create geoextended business processes, and more easily distribute results across the organization using browser and desktop workflows.
Creating Advanced Mobile Solutions
Using ESRI StreetMap Mobile SDK
Presenter: Richard Pearlman, ESRI Business Development Manager, Navigation Solutions
Walton II Room
Personal navigation devices, in-vehicle GPS, and Web-based routing are everyday business and consumer applications. However, there is a large discrepancy between the information shared between personal navigation devices and the sophisticated network models needed in today’s location-aware mobile workforce.
The ESRI StreetMap Mobile Navigation Software Developer Kit (SDK) provides a platform from which to build custom navigation and mobile mapping applications for devices such as in-vehicle systems, personal navigation devices, and mobile computing systems. It easily integrates with ESRI’s routing and logistics software solutions, providing a new technology to push information from the back office to the cab or field-deployed worker. This removes many of the challenges that companies face in implementing sophisticated tracking, dispatch, and field decision-support solutions.
During this session, attendees will be presented with sample navigation applications for mobile resource management and logistics, demonstrating integration with ArcLogistics Route and other ESRI software solutions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to discuss implementing navigation solutions with the navigation team including technical and business development leaders for StreetMap Mobile.
Going Global with ESRI Data
Presenter: Christophe Charpentier, ESRI Program Manager,
Data Acquisition
Georgian Room
Businesses operate within a global economy and often need worldwide information. ESRI has recently expanded its data strategy to develop new global reference databases to provide consistent access to information worldwide. The Global Data Catalog initiative is designed to serve all ESRI user needs including traditional desktop, server, and online technology. Users of Business Analyst Online and ArcGIS Business Analyst desktop software have already benefited from new data solutions for Europe and Canada. ESRI continues to introduce new data and regional data solutions directly and through its global network of distributors and data alliances.
This session will provide an overview of the global data initiative and how ESRI is building its global data catalog to help you paint a more detailed picture of the international business landscape. This session will also provide an opportunity to meet the team behind this initiative and offer your input to help shape the future direction of ESRI’s global data plans.
