6-8 December  |  Berlin, Germany

Top Reasons to Attend

Whether you’re an app developer who’s interested in maps, a GIS professional who’s learning how to code, or a seasoned geospatial software developer, here’s a quick look at the top reasons you will want to attend. If you agree, check out the top reasons we think you’ll be glad you attended the Esri Developer Summit, and we invite you to register and join us in Berlin.

You are Part of a Massive Event

Last year, geodevelopers from 30 different countries came to Berlin to learn all that was new in ArcGIS for developers, and this year will be bigger.

We are in Berlin!

Whether you’re riding in a taxi from the airport or walking from one of the hotels, the sights to view, and things to do such as Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, East Side Gallery, and the city’s many museums are all rich in historical and architectural significance. The DevSummit this year is at Pariser Platz and just a short walk from the Tiergarten.

Start off With Hands-on Training

Hands-on pre-summit developer sessions will be provided on 5 December 2016 for you to enroll in for additional sources of learning in your technological specialty.

Coders Need Coffee and Food!

There will be food provided at the event throughout the day, providing many options, including vegetarian-friendly ones, you will not feel as though you are missing your meals.

Present Your Work

Present your work in your own technical sessions or lightning talks, and watch and engage with your fellow developers as they share with you their recent projects, innovative ideas, and techniques for overcoming challenges. Provide them with support and a hearty pat on the back for a job well done afterwards.

The entertainment of SpeedGeeking – watching our developers share a technology with you within a quick timing of five minutes. They tend to go over cool new tricks, features, and tips very rapidly, so pay attention! Give us an hour; learn 10 new things.

Meet the Teams

Meet the team and get your questions answered. When you’re not attending workshops, you can meet and have one-on-one conversations with developers from Esri. These are the same developers who build ArcGIS and build applications on the ArcGIS platform.

DevSummit Party

The big DevSummit party is always an enjoyable event with choice beverages and food for you while mingling with your peers.

New Releases

You will be the first to see the final release of ArcGIS Runtime (Quartz release), the ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.1, and the new simpler and more flexible developer subscription and app licensing plans. Also learn about real-time GIS, 3D mapping apps, and the brand new ArcGIS Python API.

December is “Weinachtszeit”! (Christmas season!)

When the coding day is done, relax in the evening by visiting the many wonderful Christmas markets and festivals that are as diverse as Berlin itself. Eat some local treats, drink some Glühwein, and of course pick up for your mum that ornament she’s always wanted from Berlin. Here is a great Top 10 list that we found.
