Accelebrate's Introduction to Android Development training class teaches experienced developers how to develop applications for the Android operating system. The course below is current to Android 4.4.x but could be tailored to any Android version. This course does not cover the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a desktop or laptop computer running a recent version of Windows, Mac OS, or Linux. JDK 1.6 or later and the latest Android Studio beta are required. Unfortunately for this course, loaner or classroom machines are NOT provided or available. You must bring your own.

Why do I need this class?

Skills you learn in this course will help you better prepare to build apps using ArcGIS SDK for Android and its documentation and samples. Learning the skills for this course will prepare you for the more advanced Android technical sessions to be held later in the week at the DevSummit.

No prior knowledge of the Android OS is required. However, all attendees should know the fundamentals of Java SE development. Please be aware that this is a course about learning the Android SDK itself; it is not a course about the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android.
