Building iOS 7 Applications for iPhone and iPad

Description

No experience with Objective-C programming is required. However, all students should have substantial previous programming experience using an object-oriented C-based language such as C#, Java, or C++.

Get a jump start building iOS 7 native applications using Objective-C and Apple's Cocoa framework using the Xcode IDE. This is an introductory class for those just getting started with iOS development.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a newer Mac computer with a recent version of the Mac OS.  Unfortunately for this course, loaner or classroom machines are NOT provided or available. You must bring your own.

Why do I need this class?

Building apps using ArcGIS Runtime SDK for iOS? Completing this course will give you enough information to get you started, including documentation and samples. You'll be ready to get all the information you need out of the more technical sessions related to iOS offered during the DevSummit. the technical sessions. You will also gain the knowledge and skills necessary to participate and contribute to Esri open-source projects related to iOS on GitHub.

Instructor

Jason Bell is Director of Technology at Accelebrate and has been a professional developer for more than 20 years. A former member of the US Air Force, Jason contributed to the development of a variety of mission critical systems involving C/C++, dBase, Pascal, and VB. He has been developing with the .NET, OS X, and iOS platforms since the introduction of each and has authored several iOS applications that have been available on the App Store. Jason is also a published author and has conducted more than two hundred developer training sessions over the past ten years.
