Geodatabase Management Island
Geographic data is the foundation of any GIS. The Geodatabase Management Island will focus on ArcGIS technology as a platform for managing geographic datasets. Visitors will learn more about specific capabilities of the geodatabase, which provides the common data access and management framework for ArcGIS. We will discuss the various data types supported by ArcGIS (e.g., features, rasters, networks, terrains, survey measurements) and how they are represented, accessed, stored, and processed.

Visit the Geodatabase Management Island to meet with ESRI staff and learn more about the following areas:

  • Creating and Managing Geodatabases—Leverage the ArcGIS Desktop ArcCatalog application for workspace and dataset management, including high-precision geodatabases, version support, and more.
  • Editing—Use ArcGIS Desktop editing tools to create and maintain specialized types of geographic data, such as topology and networks. Manage distributed workflows using geodatabase replication.
  • RDBMS Support—Leverage relational database technology and ArcGIS Server to manage spatial data across the enterprise. Highlights will include support for PostgreSQL as well as ArcGIS for SQL Server Express.
  • Data Integration—Access many types of spatial and nonspatial data from ArcGIS including CAD, raster, COGO, and survey measurements.
  • Data Models—Start with a set of best practice geodatabase designs for a variety of industries.
  • Product Solutions—Streamline spatial data management activities with solution products such as JTX and PLTS for ArcGIS.

Mapping and Visualization Island
