Indian Wells Golf Resort

Golf Tournament ($150)
8:00 a.m.–noon

Join us on the Players Course at the Indian Wells Golf Resort, home of the LG Skins game. Playability, diversity, and challenge are the highlights of professional golfer Clive Clark's masterpiece. Remarkable attention to detail, mountain vistas, streams, flowers, and striking waterfalls present a world-class design intended to give players total enjoyment.
Note: 12 participants are necessary to have the tournament. Green fees, golf carts with GPS, and practices balls are included in the registration fee. Standard and left-handed clubs can be rented for $55; shoes for $15. Food and beverages are not included in the fee.

Palm Springs Aerial Tram

Aerial Tram Tours ($22)
Arrive no later than 10 a.m.

To gain a bird's-eye perspective on the Coachella Valley, take this 14-minute ascent up nearly 5,900 feet to the upper slopes of Mount San Jacinto. While the boarding stations retain their 1960s ski-lodge feel, the newly installed Swiss incline railway cars rotate during the trip to allow each passenger a panoramic view. Once you arrive at the top, you can dine at either of two restaurants, go for a hike or nature walk, and more.
Note: The tour price does not include transportation to the tram location.

Palm Springs windmills

Windmill & Thousand Palms Oasis Tours ($95)
8:30 a.m.–noon

This 3 to 3-1/2 hour tour includes
  • Roundtrip transportation includes bus pick-up and drop-off at the Hyatt Grand Champion Hotel
  • Tour coordination
  • Expert natural guide to narrate your entire trip
  • Guided nature walk in Thousand Palms Oasis
  • Bottled water and granola bars

The thousands of windmills dotting the San Gorgonio Pass tower over the desert with their huge, silent turbine blades that sweep half the length of a football field. The Palm Springs wind farms have intrigued many visitors. Now you can have a private tour of these fascinating structures and learn all about the wind power they produce.

Our next stop is the Coachella Valley Preserve, a 17,000-acre site that is also the home of the Thousand Palms Oasis, which straddles the San Andreas Fault. In the heart of the oasis, it’s 10 to 20 degrees cooler than the desert outside. Stroll through hundreds of Washingtonian Palms, see pupfish swim in the quiet pools, and watch fringe-toed lizards, found nowhere else in the world, burrow in the sand dunes.
