During the conference, the Registration Staff will be available to assist you with questions related to your presentation. The Registration Desk will be located on the Upper Level Foyer of the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center
Equipment for Presentation Rooms
The following equipment will be in every presentation room:
- LCD projector to connect to your laptop computer
- One projection screen
- Lectern/podium with one (1) stationary microphone
- Head table and chairs
Internet Access
Each presentation room will have access to 1 hard-wired internet connection.
- Note: Wireless internet coverage may not available in presentation rooms.
PowerPoint Slide Suggestions
- Keep in mind how far away the audience is likely to be in large rooms.
- Try to keep text size at least 18 or 20 points for readability. If you can't fit everything on a slide at that size, then break it into two or more slides.
- Use high-contrast colors; either light text on a dark background or dark text on a light background. Best text colors are white, yellow, light green, and aqua (light blue) against a dark background. Don't use red, dark green or black text or graphics against darker backgrounds.
- Make sure arrows and other connectors between graphics also have high contrast.
- Do not overdo animation on slides. If you have animation, try to keep the number of mouse clicks per slide to a minimum and practice with your slides the day before your session to be familiar with the interaction.
