The Map and the Mission
Join Esri staff and federal government professionals as we explore how GIS helps us understand our world and our nation. The morning session begins with a reflection on successful federal projects and a vision for the future by Esri president Jack Dangermond. We will explore the ArcGIS platform for individuals, developers, organizations and government and exciting developments in cloud GIS.
Special Guest Keynotes:
Dr. Jerry Johnston, Geospatial Information Officer, U.S. Department of the Interior
Professor Jacqueline McGlade, Executive Director, European Environment Agency
The afternoon promises to deliver an exciting session to understanding GIS in our federal government, with a look at the map and the mission—how GIS and mapping are enabling mission achievement. Like the morning session, the afternoon is designed for GIS professionals, executives and first time attendees. You will have the opportunity to hear short stories about amazing GIS efforts and accomplishments from different Agencies intermixed with Esri demonstrations on the latest advances in the ArcGIS platform including new configurable apps, content, analysis services, location analytics, cloud GIS and big data. The plenary is an opportunity to learn and understand new GIS capabilities, to prepare for the future and to leverage the best ideas and approaches to tackling many of the hard problems facing our world.
