Dr. David Frost Attaway has over twelve years’ experience in GIS work and has been employed by various GIS companies. He studied and received his Bachelor of Arts in Geography from The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) in 2007 and then received his Master’s in Geographic Information Science in 2009 from UTD before pursuing his PhD from George Mason University in Earth Systems and Geoinformation Sciences in 2014. He has published 9+ publications in accredited journals, devised ways to integrate new spatial statistics tools into ArcGIS, and has been a lead advisor for medical geography issues worldwide. David’s current medical geography analysis looks to identify limitations to dengue mapping, new methodologies to analyze risk, and ways in which to bring together multidiscipline approaches to combating vector borne disease. David is a Solution Engineer at ESRI, and works in the Washington, DC Regional Office. He supports the National Government Sector and has served the last three years as a member on the Northern Virginia (NOVA) Geospatial Academic Advisory Board.
