Web GIS, Taking Advantage of the Cloud

We will discuss the most recent pattern for GIS, or Web GIS, and how it compliments existing patterns of a GIS—desktop and enterprise. Together, these three fundamental patterns provide a more powerful and complete geographic information ecosystem.

Key aspects of a Web GIS will be reviewed to see how it relates to the other components and latest technologies, including cloud computing, which have enabled this new concept.

We will also look at ESRI’s strategy for Web GIS and how our software helps our users take advantage of this new pattern in publishing and sharing their information in a geographic context as well as how it enables better collaboration with their users.
