Learn about the unique history of Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID) and how ESRI software and applications are utilized for water resource management and throughout the organization. The tour will begin with a brief presentation and overview of the District followed by a relaxing and insightful boat tour of Bay Lake showcasing use of the ArcGIS Collector app for aquatic vegetation mapping and fisheries support. An experienced Reedy Creek guide will provide narration and answer questions along the trip.

Southwest Water Plant Tour

The Southwest Water Treatment Plant was placed into service in 1997. It is Orlando Utilities Commission’s largest water plant. The plant is capable of producing 45 million gallons per day, with a peak flow of 58 million gallons per day. Seven wells draw raw water from 1,500-feet deep into the lower Floridian aquifer. This water is treated with on-site generated ozone and distributed through 1,827 miles of water mains ranging in size from 2 to 48-inches. Universal Studios is provided water from this facility.
The tour location is within 15 minutes of the DoubleTree Hotel. Transportation will be provided to/from the hotel and the tour location. The tour will be approximately one hour long.
Tour fee is $30. Space is limited.You must be registered for the conference to attend the tour.
