SAG AwardsSpecial Achievement in GIS Awards are given each year at the ESRI User Conference to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of GIS users around the world. 2004 WinnersKentucky is one of the most famous karst areas in the world, and much of the state's beautiful scenery is the result of karst landscape development. The Kentucky Geological Survey received ESRI's Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) award for its use of GIS for karst mapping. The KGS produces a variety of digital and hardcopy karst maps, including geologic, groundwater, and feature inventory maps, that are used and shared by businesses, organizations, and government agencies throughout the state. 2002 Winners
