Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation
The Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation makes it easy to find and map real property information and demographics throughout Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation (BEDC), a New York City nonprofit community development group, unveils an interactive mapping tool that makes it easy for nonprofit groups, small developers, economic development agencies, community leaders, public officials, and others to find and map real property information and demographics throughout Brooklyn.

"The goal is to provide small businesses seeking to locate or expand in Brooklyn a direct and effective way to research neighborhoods and properties throughout the borough" explained Steven Romalewski, director of the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) Community Mapping Assistance Project (CMAP).

BEDC is excited about the project. Easy access to individualized, geographically based information on the Web is an essential economic development tool that will help drive investment and business and employment growth in all of Brooklyn's neighborhoods. This tool will improve information flow to businesses in terms of the depth of information, the ease of interpreting information by presenting it in a geographic format, and the accessibility of it by having it available 24 hours a day on the Web, helping businesses to get the information they need when they need it.

You can access the mapping site at http://www.nonprofitmaps.org/netmaps/bedc/bedc.htm.
