Volume 22: GIS—The Geographic Approach North Sea Oil and Gas

Rockies — Oil and Gas
Wood Mackenzie has produced a detailed wall map of the U.S. Rocky Mountains area showing the latest information about the oil and gas infrastructure in the region.

Volume 21: GIS—Communicating Our World North Sea Oil and Gas

North Sea Oil and Gas
Wood Mackenzie has produced a detailed wall map of the North Sea showing the latest information about the oil and gas infrastructure. The map shows active licenses, operators, fields, and exploration/appraisal (E&A) well locations in Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and the United Kingdom.

Volume 20: GIS—Helping Manage Our World North Sea Oil and Gas

These maps also show select roads, pipelines, land/water forms, subdivisions, and property ownership.

Volume 19: GIS—The Language of Geography

Brazil Petroleum Infrastructure
ArcGlobe has the capability to put many data sets in perspective. This satellite view of the Rio de Janeiro–São Paulo region of southern Brazil appears as a silk screen—the world topography and culture are the raster backdrop.

Volume 18: Geography and GIS—Serving our World Historic Oil Wells—West Virginia Mountain

Historic Oil Wells—West Virginia Mountain
View a series of maps that depict early oil fields in the West Virginia Mountains producing since 1895.

Volume 17: Geography and GIS—Sustaining our World Earth Satellite Corporation

Earth Satellite Corporation
Earth Satellite Corporation (EarthSat) geologists interpreted Landsat Thematic Mapper imagery acquired in 2000 for surface fractures. The fracture information was stored in an ArcInfo spatial database, and EarthSat used ArcGrid to model surfaces that characterize the regional density and direction of these fractures.

Volume 16: Geography—Creating Communities Petroleum Exploration in New Zealand--Basin Modeling Using GIS

Petroleum Exploration in New Zealand--Basin Modeling Using GIS
The display shows the entire petroleum system including migration paths, structural development, and the distribution of mature sources and potential reservoirs. More complex migration algorithms are being developed.

The Map Book Gallery features the ESRI Map Book series dedicated to acknowledging the important and innovative accomplishments of GIS users around the world.

Published annually, each volume of the ESRI Map Book showcases a small portion of the work presented at the Map Gallery Exhibition at the annual ESRI International User Conference.
