Solutions Guide

Connect with Esri and its partners for expert knowledge of how GIS works with your business. Together, we'll help you integrate the technology, products, and services to meet your needs.

The relationship of surveyors and civil engineers to the GIS market is of critical importance. Civil engineers design and build this infrastructure while surveyors collect and deliver highly accurate geospatial data, fueling multiple industries and levels of government. Using GIS technology, surveyors and civil engineers play a key role in the GIS data improvement process and contribute their expertise on design, measurement, accuracy, and precision to improve the quality/accuracy of GIS data.

Strategic Solutions

ArcGIS 3D Analyst from Esri provides powerful and advanced visualization, analysis, and surface generation tools. Using ArcGIS 3D Analyst, you can view extremely large sets of data in three dimensions from multiple viewpoints, query a surface, and create a realistic perspective image that drapes raster and vector data over a surface.

ArcGlobe, a desktop application that is part of ArcGIS 3D Analyst, introduces whole-earth 3D visualization. With ArcGlobe, users can visualize and analyze geographic datasets from a local or global perspective. ArcGlobe can easily and intelligently handle raster, vector, terrain, and image datasets.

As an extension to the ArcGIS for Desktop products, ArcGIS 3D Analyst allows users to leverage 3D visualization and analysis in ArcView, ArcEditor, and ArcInfo.

PurVIEW from I.S.M. International Systemap Corp. provides users with a refined, positionally accurate three-dimensional view of target locations. It is a valuable tool that can quickly reveal data omissions, errors, or changes. Additionally, PurVIEW allows users to efficiently capture three-dimensional data through specially designed input tools and geodatabase direct editing.

BAE SOCET SET from BAE Systems contains a direct connection to the Esri geodatabase. The capability to store graphics and features with their ground coordinates and attributes in the geodatabase and to retrieve them for update or future analysis is known as spatially enabled exploitation and creates benefits across the geospatial analysis and imagery analysis communities. SOCET SET offers this capability to image and geospatial analysts; it is fully integrated with the existing easy-to-use functionality.

ArcGIS for Windows Mobile from Esri is a geographic information system software platform that enables organizations to deliver GIS data and services from centralized servers, providing real-time access to information over wireless networks to a range of Windows Mobile devices. ArcGIS for Windows Mobile is powered by ArcGIS for Server and allows deployment of intuitive and productive GIS applications to increase the accuracy and improve the currency of GIS data across an organization.

ArcGIS Data Interoperability from Esri eliminates barriers to data sharing by providing state-of-the-art direct data access, complex data transformation, and import/export capabilities. Jointly developed by Esri and Safe Software, in an Esri corporate alliance, this extension is built on Safe Software's industry-standard Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) technology. ArcGIS Data Interoperability allows GIS professionals to use any standard GIS data within the ArcGIS for Desktop environment, regardless of the format. This means that users can directly read, display, and analyze this data using all the tools available within ArcGIS for Desktop.
