As of early 2012, Esri is making several name changes with ArcGIS. These changes will take effect with the release of ArcGIS 10.1. These name changes are not intended to reflect a change to the product features or functions. However, the product upgrades to ArcGIS 10.1 may introduce new features and functions enhancements. The product name changes are intended to reinforce the fact that regardless of where and how ArcGIS is used, it is the same system to convey geographic information. The Esri license agreements will be updated to reflect the new product names. Refer to the Product Name Conversion Table.
