Environmental Conditions Online

Environmental Conditions Online (ECO) is a Web-based mapping application that is on the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection Intranet. ECO represents a foundation for sharing geographic information by providing all agency staff with convenient access to natural resource and environmental information. This information is used for a variety of environmental planning, management, and regulatory purposes.

ECO includes tools for mapping and accessing environmental conditions anywhere in Connecticut. Example data layers include aquifer protection areas, dams, drainage basins, flood zones, soils, state parks and forests, water quality classifications, underground storage tanks, and tidal wetlands. Before ECO, this information was not available to everyone in the agency.
