This map shows recent development trends for sites using septic systems. It was used to predict future development and identify how people would be impacted by proposed changes to septic system permitting standards. In Orange County, 660 septic tanks were located, and 168 septic tanks were located in Seminole County. Two hundred forty-four septic tanks were identified in the primary protection area, 665 septic tanks were identified in the secondary protection area, and 72 were located in the tertiary protection area. The septic tank data was extracted from CENTRAX, the Division of Environmental Health's database. The data was then address-standardized using Accumail and georeferenced to the study area.
