The cooperative efforts of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and Joshua Tree National Park personnel succeeded in moving a section of VR-1257 to a more remote portion of the park while still providing pilots required training opportunities.

Park personnel provided the GIS analysis and mapping for the environmental analysis report. This map is from that report, and along with several other maps, it was part of a display by the ESRI Conservation Program, which supports Joshua Tree National Park with its GIS efforts.
