This map series was designed to show the extent and status of anadromous fish in streams within Water Resource Inventory areas of Washington. The maps were produced using ArcInfo, ARCPLOT, and dynamic segmentation against a 1:100,000-scale stream network spatial database. The anadromous fish data sets are compiled in event tables (SASI, rearing, and spawning) or point coverages (barriers, facilities) produced by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. Each Salmonid map shows the status of a species of anadromous fish within the stream network of a Water Resource Inventory area. Additional land use/land cover information, EPA 303(d) listed streams, and township/range section data are provided for identifying areas of development, pollution, and water-right adjudication. The report, along with the maps and data, was submitted and used in support of a pending lawsuit on water quantity metering and to illustrate fish management within watershed planning areas. |
