Investigating Brown Rot in Stone Fruit Using ArcIMS

Farm advisors and others are participating in an online brown rot survey. Using assigned passwords, they access a survey page and then link to the interactive ArcIMS maps to locate fields. Participants can report on incidence of the disease and update the stone fruit distribution maps. They can query the ArcIMS map interface by township or section to locate areas of investigated stone fruit orchards. The Identify tool is used to get an identification number, which is entered into the survey form to provide the spatial reference to identify brown rot and changes to the overall map.
