The city of El Cajon has 16 fire stations within its sphere (6 shown). Travel times were obtained from the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) travel demand model to be used for travel time analysis. The off-peak traffic assignment was used to mimic midday travel conditions. The department requested two-minute time intervals up to 10 minutes. Sixteen maps were prepared to show each fire station site independently. A larger map shows the overlap analysis of all 16 fire stations combined. The fire department will use these maps for updating response areas for emergency services and the accreditation process.
