Development Through Knowledge

Development Through Knowledge reflects the motto of the Africa Institute of South Africa (AISA), and these maps are a representation of some of the data that AISA publishes in its statistical volume, Africa at a Glance. The GIS section of AISA was established in 2003, but it has already made a difference in the way in which AISA presents and disseminates its research outputs and new knowledge. AISA has discovered new ways to talk to its audience by applying the best technology to produce a virtual face of Africa. These maps focus on human development indicators that are important in socioeconomic research.
