1613-2, Hengill Southwest Iceland Map Series

1613-2, Hengill, 1:50,000 Scale

The data used for this project was a seamless digital database of the entire Iceland IS 50V developed by the National Land Survey of Iceland. The same vector data (generalized) is used in map guides (i.e., Boundary guide, Elevation guide). The map layout was generated using the PLTS 3 Map Production System—Topographic Line Map series (TLM 50).

The map is printed by exporting it to a PDF file in ArcInfo 8.3. Most of the data (all lines, points, and annotations and part of the polygons) is represented as vector, and the remainder (some polygon layer symbols) is bitmap symbols. Many printing and map exporting quality-enhancing tips were obtained at the Esri User Conference in 2004. The map was published in September 2004.
