West Linn Zoning MapSituated in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, the city of West Linn is located in the Portland metropolitan area in Oregon. The city is eight square miles with an estimated population of 24,000. The West Linn Zoning map shows zone designations and special districts along with detailed address information on the tax lot base, place-names, neighborhoods, elevations, trails, and natural resources. This wall map is 52 by 64 inches (1 inch = 400 feet) and is posted for public viewing in the lobby of city hall. It is available for purchase and downloadable from the city's Web site. The map is printed on two 36- by 52-inch sheets and spliced together for the final map product. This map was developed using automatic labeling functions available in ArcGIS 8.3. COGO Tax Lot BaseThe tax lot base was developed by the Clackamas County GIS Department with shared funding and review from the city of West Linn. Individual plat map property lines were input using Coordinate Geometry (COGO) by Inside Oregon, which provides work and training programs for the Oregon Department of Corrections inmates. The COGO tax lot base is maintained by the county's Department of Assessment and Taxation and has been integrated into the Regional Land Information System for use by many public agencies and the public through a variety of Web sites. The tax lot base includes an accurate representation of parcel lines, easements, historic information, and plat names and lot numbers, which can be used with orthophotography as shown on this map. West Linn Storm Water SystemThe city of West Linn's average rainfall is 47 inches. There are approximately 71 miles of storm lines, 2,500 catch basins, 105 pollution control manholes, 40 ponds, and 54 underground detention tanks that are maintained by the city and mapped within the city's GIS. The storm water wall map shows detailed system information including storm pipes, catch basins, manholes, and open streams and ditches along with drainage basins, contour lines, public land ownership, and the recent citywide wetland inventory. The COGO tax lot map is used as the basemap for the overlays. In addition to this detailed storm water information, the water and sanitary sewer systems are mapped within the city's enterprisewide GIS and available for viewing on wall maps, atlases, desktop applications, and the Web. Plats in West LinnThis map shows the individual plats that were used to create the COGO tax lot base. Along with plat boundaries and subdivision names, the map includes donation land claim boundaries, tax lots, neighborhoods, survey monuments, and named creeks. The legend lists the plat and partition plat names alphabetically and includes the map grid location to find the plat on the map. This information is included in the geodatabase, and the city's MapObjects application enables staff to find particular subdivisions by name.
