These maps represent the inundation at specified times resulting from a total failure of a certain dam with the reservoir at full capacity. The simulation was performed using the two-dimensional MIKE21 hydrodynamic model. The MIKE21 simulation was visualized using ArcGIS utilities.

The dam failure hydrograph was based on a previous study that predicted a peak flow of 712,742 cubic feet per second (cfs). When overtopped, the capacity of the reservoir was 69,000 acre-feet. It was assumed that continuing precipitation sustained a 10,000 cfs flow for the duration of the scenario after the reservoir was emptied.
