Election results from 2002 and 2004 in California’s 9th Congressional District are combined with Census 2000 age and ethnicity data to convey a great deal of information in a single map. The dramatic difference between the percentage votes in the 2002/2004 maps suggests that the majority of the additional voters drawn in by the general election voted for Congresswoman Barbara Lee. Voter preference, median age, and ethnicity indicators suggest an increased Hispanic electoral base in future elections.
