In the Czech Republic, it is important to protect unfragmented areas with traffic (UAT) against future fragmentation, and consideration must be given to the concurrence of UAT and other issues of conservation, especially protected areas, large regional aspects of the territorial system of ecological stability (TSES), and large mammal migration.

UAT Polygons and TSES

The top map shows approximately 70 percent of large regional biocenters are located inside the UAT polygons. From the UAT perspective, 90 percent of the polygons are in contact with large regional biocenters and biocorridors, which are related to the TSES network density. Considering the extensiveness of the TSES network, it is not possible to conduct a simple general evaluation.

UAT Polygons and the Areas of Big Mammal Migration

The bottom assessment map shows that by comparing the data to the map of migration areas, it is possible to determine that main migration patterns are in accord with the presence and quality of UAT.
