Cobb community improvement projects shown on this map are proposed transportation-related projects that would be implemented if Cobb County voters approved a special-purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST). These projects are stored in CobbETRANS, Cobb’s enterprise transportation geodatabase, and the map was used as a communication tool as the selected projects went through an extensive public meeting process. Based on input from these meetings, the projects were modified, and the map was a way for the public to see if their input was being incorporated. The Cobb County Board of Commissioners approved these projects in July 2005, and they represent $800 million worth of transportation improvements over a six-year period. SPLOST was approved by Cobb voters in September 2005. |
