These maps are part of an analysis of a proposed transit system in the rapidly growing Las Vegas, Nevada, region. Planners at Parsons Transportation Group and the Clark County Regional Transportation Commission are examining a light-rail network versus a network of rapid transit buses.

Distributions of current and future employment help Parsons’ transportation planners design a bus or rail network that serves the greatest number of Clark County’s residents. Census maps showing poverty (and race) help ensure requirements for environmental justice are met. Other maps in this series show the distribution of current and forecasted housing.

ArcGIS is being used to analyze data and produce a variety of maps to look at the alternatives and support the ultimate decision.
