Sanding Route Map

This atlas was created by Applied Geographics, Inc., for the Dedham Department of Public Works staff members who perform snowplowing and road sanding services for the town. The roads in Dedham were analyzed to develop five areas of approximately equal road length. The atlas was designed for clarity and produced in an easy-to-handle 11-by-17-inch format. A copy was made for each of the plow trucks. The areas highlighted in red indicate locations in town that need extra attention due to steep hills, schools, and other high-traffic properties and areas with notoriously bad winter road conditions. The atlas sheets were laminated to protect them from the harsh and wet conditions on the plow trucks. An index summarized street names for each sanding area.
