Northeast Communities with Fire Loss and Density Based on Incident Load and Dollar Loss

Railway crossings in northeast Calgary present some higher risk with respect to fire response time. The communities of Forest Lawn Industrial, Red Carpet, and Applewood are at an increased risk for responding apparatus to be blocked at a rail crossing during a fire. By analyzing the fire loss and dollar loss, a business case would be carried forward to use the Calgary Fire Department training academy as a temporary station, which would be the first responder for calls emanating from these communities.
