This map was created to illustrate the location of tourist attractions in the state of Vermont. The map focuses on key tourist attractions within Vermont such as Ben and Jerry’s, the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, presidential birthplaces, and state parks. Data was obtained from the Vermont Center for Geographic Information and developed in ArcView 8.3. Detailed symbology was created using standard ArcView tools, and text was developed using annotation layers. A local grid was created to easily reference each tourist attraction and state park from the list. Vermont Center for Geographic Information also provided elevation data, which was used to combine a hillshade and colored transparent digital elevation model to represent Vermont’s diverse landscape—the Green Mountains. ArcView 8.3 was used to perform the data conversion, development, and final map layout.
