The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a report by the City of Newark, New Jersey, to describe existing conditions in Newark and to formulate strategies and identify projects that will support the city’s ongoing economic revitalization.

Twenty-five maps in CEDS 2006 present Newark on a range of scales: from macro showing the city as a transit hub in the Northeast to micro showing landmarks, historic districts, and commercial hubs in the city’s five neighborhoods. Although each map delivers its own story, the 25 maps are linked to support CEDS 2006.

The CEDS 2006 maps were developed by the planning and multimedia teams of Newwork, LLC, located in downtown Newark. The maps were enabled by the company’s knowledge of Newark-based projects, its analysis and utilization of advanced GIS data, and its expertise in information design and graphic software.
