The Health and Human Services Master Plan 2005 was prepared to assist the Department of Community Support Services (DCSS) in Alachua County, Florida. The plan identifies social service needs for the next decade, emphasizing coordination of health services with human services. To support the objectives of this plan, a GIS analysis was conducted. Social measurements derived from U.S. Bureau of the Census data were compared with DCSS service data for the last decade. The distribution of social measurements revealed locations of the most needy residents and potential allocation of population growth. The DCSS service data indicated that past and current service areas were evenly distributed throughout the county.
