This project illustrates an application of spatial demographic analysis in support of school planning. The study of fertility is one of the key fields of demography, and fertility trends are one of the key determinants of school enrollment. The maps illustrate several standard demographic measures of fertility such as crude birthrates, general fertility rates, and age- and race-specific fertility rates. Also illustrated is the path from birth to kindergarten, as moderated by migration and school capture rates. The maps were created in ArcMap using the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension.
