These maps depict a variety of negative neighborhood indicators throughout Greensboro, North Carolina. One of the objectives of Greensboro’s comprehensive plan is to create a clean, safe, and affordable environment for all residents. Using ArcGIS software, city planners aggregated a large quantity of datasets from multiple departments and efficiently mapped these indicators. The patterns that emerge from these maps help gauge the effectiveness of city services, measure neighborhood health, and quantify existing conditions while tracking trends over time. Using these maps as a tool, Greensboro can more effectively focus its resources and set priorities for project funding.
